In desk4 the serial number management was released last week. In the Article menu item under the main item Master Data you will find serial numbers. The tab appears as soon as you select a value in the “Number of serial numbers” drop-down menu in the Details frame of the item that is not “none”. Here you can maintain the numbers of the current article. Use the new button to add a new serial number for this item. A window will appear by selecting the target warehouse in which the items and the respective serial number are . If a number is used in a document, the status of the serial number on “Available” is set to “No” and thus this serial number can no longer be used in other bellows. The arrow on the serial numbers opens the history of the respective serial number and you can see in which documents the serial number is used. The Serial Number field defines how many serial numbers are assigned per item. If you check “Serial number maintenance at goods receipt” in the Details frame, you can maintain the serial numbers of the items at goods receipt. If you now add an item in goods receipt that 1. has a number of serial numbers in the item details and 2. the check mark in “Serial number maintenance at goods receipt” is set, you can expand an item in goods receipt using the arrow symbol and add the respective data in the area marked in red (see figure on the left). You can now add the item to delivery notes/invoices and, while editing the item, add the appropriate serial number in the red marked area (see picture on the left) using a drop-down menu.
